Waynesville NC may be a small town, but do not drive through too quickly! Waynesville offers a wide variety of entertainment and cultural experience.  Waynesville has the Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts, located just one block off Main Street Waynesville, with extensive exhibits featuring pottery, baskets and quilts, just to name a few.  Located just around the corner is the Haywood Arts Repertory Theatre which features lives performances throughout the year whether it be plays produced by the Haywood County Arts Council or musical productions ranging from Bluegrass to Jazz to Chamber music.  The Atlanta Ballet has also performed here for the last several summer seasons.

     The World meets at Folkmoot, USA, an International Dance Festival held in Waynesville NC each July. Participants from 10 to 12 countries are represented each year sharing cultures, song and dance.  The festival has been included for over 10 years in the Southeast Tourism Events as one of the top 20 events in the Southeast.

     Haywood County is also home to the Lake Junaluska Methodist Assembly, which has the Lake Junaluska Heritage Museum and the World Methodist Museum.  The Methodist Assembly holds several conferences throughout the year and also hosts events for other special interest groups.

     Haywood County NC offers something for everyone! The Great Smoky Mountains has several Hiking trails in and through the Parks.  Cataloochee National Park is located here offering fishing, camping and hiking to enjoy the pure beauty of our nature. The Blue Ridge Parkway offers approximately 50 miles of scenic roadway to travel and gaze upon our mountains. Maggie Valley is just 15 minutes from downtown Waynesville and offers even more shopping, entertainment and restaurants. Maggie Valley plays host to Ghost Town in the Sky, Cataloochee Ski Area, Cataloochee Dude Ranch, Soco Gardens Zoo, the Annual Moonlight Madness Race and several unique gift shops. If Golf is your interest, there are several courses at your convenience:  Waynesville Country Club, Maggie Valley Country Club, Springdale Country Club, Laurel Ridge Country Club, Irontree and several additional courses located within the area.
